Paul do Forno

SVP, Commerce and Content Practice Lead

Growing up as the youngest child in a large family, I was pretty lucky that my older brother’s business always bought the best new computers — which I got to use and program. That early experience fueled my love of technology and, as luck had it, I later attended the University of Waterloo, one of the best computer science schools in the world. During this time I witnessed the beginning of the online age via the Mosaic browser on a Sun workstation, and I’ve worked on Internet/Web technology projects ever since.

I have more than 18 years of industry experience, previously with NCR, SapientNitro and Deloitte, mostly in omnichannel commerce roles that consisted of broad consulting, technology, digital experience and strategy. I have built service offerings and led large engagements in ecommerce involving high performance, globally distributed teams that integrated creative, business consulting and technology. I’ve served companies such as Target, Hyatt Hotels, Victoria’s Secret, lululemon athletica, BMW, Borders, TE Connectivity, Scotts, Cardinal Health, Northern Telecom and the U.K.’s National Health Service.

As senior vice president of omnichannel commerce and content, I lead a national, multi-discipline practice of user experience, strategists, business process, technology and research. Our goal is to help companies understand their customers’ journey and then align their strategies and solutions to their brand. My team works closely with the best partners in technology to deliver these solutions.

When people ask where I’m from, the answer I give isn’t exactly straightforward. I’m originally from Chatham, Ontario, currently live in Chicago and prior to that, I spent 13 years in Columbus, Ohio. Oh, and my family is originally from Portugal. I’ve managed to get three citizenships — American, Canadian and Portuguese — and along the way have come to speak fluent Portuguese in addition to English.
